“Tutti a tavola a mangiare!”
Situated in Kansas City’s Crossroads Art District inside a beautifully restored freight house, Lidia’s has built a reputation for exceptional Northern Italian cuisine. Opened more than a decade ago by acclaimed chef Lidia Bastianich, this namesake restaurant was her first location outside New York City and quickly became a culinary destination for locals and visitors.
Under the direction of executive chef Dan Swinney, the menu features generous, flavorful secondi like ossobuco paired with barley risotto. Pasta lovers will be particularly pleased by the generous portions of handmade pastas. Highlights include the braised duck gnocchi and the pasta tasting trio — a daily selection of fresh pastas served tableside and offered in unlimited portions for those who want to sample multiple preparations.
The dining room is elegant and warm, making Lidia’s well suited for special occasions. Hand-blown glass fixtures and exposed brick walls create an intimate, romantic atmosphere. In warmer months, the stone patio provides a pleasant al fresco option for enjoying a leisurely meal.
