We recently updated my son’s room, changing it from a cowboy-themed nursery to an automotive-themed space. The new theme felt like a good fit for his growing interests and gave us a chance to rethink the layout and add a fun play corner.
While browsing ideas on Pinterest, I found a simple dress-up corner concept that inspired our design. That idea worked perfectly for a small, awkward corner in his room—one that can’t accommodate bulky furniture because the closet door opens on that side. A compact, creative solution was exactly what we needed.
To create the focal point, I picked up an inexpensive mirror at Target for $5.99 and decorated it with paint markers. It was an easy, budget-friendly DIY that added personality and a playful touch aligned with the car theme.

My son really enjoys the space. He loves dressing up there and peeking at himself in the mirror, which makes the corner both entertaining and interactive. The mirror adds depth to the small room and gives him a chance to explore imaginative play.

Next steps include gathering a few cute dress-up items—helmets, vests, and small props that suit the car-and-auto theme. These additions will encourage pretend play and keep the corner practical without crowding the room.
We’ve had a lot of fun decorating his room, and there are still a few finishing touches to complete. I’ll share more updates and photos as we finish the space.
Have a wonderful day!
