Not Me! Monday — Episode 37: Confessions and Surprises

I love Not Me! Monday, the meme created by My Charming Kids, so I’ll use this space to share the things I did not do this past week. Take a moment to visit MckMama’s blog and see what she has not been up to recently.

Last week I drove our car instead of the minivan I’ve grown used to. I did not pull into my destination and fumble with the minivan’s keyless entry, expecting the doors to lock automatically. And when I got home, I certainly did not try to open the trunk and then hear *beep* *beep* *beep* as the van’s back door rose by itself. No, none of that happened.

I also didn’t get a little overenthusiastic while helping my three-year-old pull up his pants after using the restroom and accidentally flip him onto the floor. If that had happened, we would have both laughed about it. Not that I’m admitting to anything.

The big Not Me! moment this week did not happen when I turned my back for a few seconds to get my youngest some juice. Clearly, those few seconds are not enough time for him to find something disastrous and dump it all over the kitchen floor. Can you imagine what it might have been?

If you guessed oil, then you are a genius. Yes, Warren did not—under any circumstance—dump half a bottle of canola oil onto the kitchen floor at lightning speed. And I am not at all relieved that it was only half a bottle and that it ended up on the floor instead of all over him. Well, I might be a little relieved.
